About UX Allies

It started with a small group of UX practitioners from IBM, caught in a tech layoff, who decided not to face it alone.

Losing a job is isolating, so instead of scattering, they kept showing up for each other. What began as mutual support turned into something worth keeping.

They'd been shaped by a design culture that was rigorous, collaborative, and human-centered. But the company didn't own that way of working. Designers and researchers everywhere face the same complexity, often alone, so we opened the door. You don't need a shared employer to belong here. You need to care about the craft and the people doing it.

Our values

What we stand for

01

Craft with purpose

Design that does something real, not design for its own sake.

02

Transparency

Honest communication, even when the subject is hard.

03

Peer respect

No hierarchy. Everyone here has something to offer and something to learn.

04

Openness

We grew past our beginnings on purpose, and we keep the door open.

Who it's for

UX practitioners at every career stage who want connection, growth, and peer support — and who'd rather think together than broadcast. If you've ever wanted a smaller, more honest room than the feeds and the follower counts, this is that room.
